Massachusetts State Curriculum Frameworks
The Massachusetts State Curriculum Frameworks are a set of standards developed for all content area subject instruction. MCAS is based on these standards. The Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks provide teachers, students and families with clear and shared expectations for what all students should know and be able to do at the end of each year.

Learning Standards for Families
The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education provides Family Guides to the Massachusetts learning standards to help families understand what students are expected to know and be able to do by the end of each grade. Designed to help families and teachers work together to support learning, the guides are available in English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Simplified Chinese.

Safe and Drug-Free Schools
Students in grades K-12 receive instruction on substance use/abuse and violence prevention from a district-approved curriculum in their Health Education classes. This program is a research-based tobacco, alcohol, and drug abuse prevention program. To ensure a safe educational environment, the district clearly conveys the message that there is "zero tolerance" for alcohol, drugs, weapons, hate crimes, and violence within and on the grounds of the Abington Public Schools. The schools are aggressive with consequences, as well as education, intervention, and support.
