My name is Officer Joshua Heal, I have lived in the town of Abington since 2010. I grew up and attended High School in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. I graduated from New England Institute of Technology with a degree in business management. I am currently enrolled and pursing a degree in criminal justice. I attended School Resource Officer training and ALICE Instructor training prior to becoming the School Resource Officer.

Prior to becoming a full time Abington Police Officer, I worked for the Stoughton Police Department as the full time Animal Control Officer, Animal Inspector, and Parking Enforcement Officer, as well as being a Special Police Officer for the Town of Abington. I am a graduate from the Plymouth Police Academy.

I am a big fan of New England sports as well as an avid automobile enthusiast.



My name is James White. I have lived in Abington since 2000. I was a student-athlete at Abington High School, graduating in 2013. I ran cross country in the fall, played basketball in the winter, and did track and field in the spring.

I have helped coach youth sports for the town, including basketball, football, and baseball. I enjoy traveling and playing basketball with friends. I am a diehard New England sports fan.

I attended Massasoit Community College where I received my Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. I transferred to Bridgewater State University, where I also studied Criminal Justice. I was accepted into the New Braintree State Police Municipal Academy and graduated in September of 2018. I joined the Abington Police Department full time in September 2018.

School Resource Officer (SRO)

A school resource officer, by federal definition, is a career law enforcement officer with sworn authority who is deployed by an employing police department or agency in a community-oriented policing assignment to work in collaboration with one or more schools.
