Valentine’s Day at BBES

It's hard to believe that it is already February! In keeping with our wellness policy, we ask that Valentine's Day cards traded with classmates do not include food/candy. Thank you for your help with this!

Important: Drop Off & Pick Up Parking Lot Reminders

Please remember the following when dropping your student off in the morning:

·         Drop off ends and gates close at 9am. When the gates are closing or are closed, you will need to drive around, park in the front of the building and walk your child into the office.  There is absolutely no stopping and dropping off students in the parking lot when gates are closed or partially closed.

·         The first parking spot closest to the gate is a handicapped parking spot and needs to be kept open for those who need this spot.

·         Be aware of your surroundings when driving in your vehicle, there are many people walking in the lots at drop-off and pick up.

The recommended and safest morning drop off option is driving

Through the active drop off line.  Thank you for your help keeping our parking lots safe.

Snow Recess

We try to get outside for recess as much as possible in the colder months depending on the wind chill. Typically, students are able to go on the playground in the snow as long as they have snowpants and boots to wear.  Students without snowpants and boots can play recess games with friends on the blacktop. However, due to the height of the snowbanks around the perimeter of the playground all recesses will be blacktop only for all students.

Family Math Night

Join us for Family Math night on Thursday, February 12th from 5:30-6:30 in the gym! It is a great evening where students can teach math games to family members. We look forward to seeing you!

From the Nurse's Office

We want to inform you of a recent uptick in gastrointestinal illness cases within our community. As a precautionary measure to prevent further spread, we kindly request that if your child experiences vomiting or diarrhea, they stay home for a minimum of 24 hours after the symptoms have subsided. This not only aids in their recovery but also helps safeguard the health of other students and staff.

You may contact Renee Brown, school nurse, if you have any questions atreneebrown@abingtonps.org

Now Hiring Substitutes!

Student Information Update

As you may know, Abington Public Schools uses Aspen as our student information management system. It is critical for families to update their students’ basic information (address, phone, emergency contact, etc.) when changes occur.
