MESSAGE FROM THE DISTRICT
Beginning this school year, ALL district and school communications—including newsletters, updates, and announcements—will be posted on our webpage and sent through Thrillshare, our communication platform (via email, SMS message, and Live Feed within our app). We piloted this platform last year alongside Constant Contact. This year you will no longer receive district or school-based messages through Constant Contact (community-based messages will continue to be sent using Constant Contact).
To ensure you receive all Abington Public Schools information, please take a moment to log into Aspen and verify that the email addresses listed for your student’s first two contacts are accurate and up to date.
Thrillshare will use this information to send communications directly to you. If you need assistance logging into Aspen, please click here.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us make this transition smooth and effective. Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting our students and schools.
MESSAGE FROM THE NURSE
Welcome back to school. I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable summer.
If your student had a physical over the summer, please forward me a copy either by email or fax. This will help to ensure the maintenance of accurate health records.

ARRIVAL PROCEDURES
Breakfast arrival time: 8:10
Parent Drop-off arrival: 8:25-8:40
Students are not allowed up to their classrooms until 8:25. Please do not drop off your student if they are not eating breakfast.
If you are dropping a student off, please stay in the drop-off line and pull all the way forward when you have reached the sidewalk. Students should exit on the right-hand side of the vehicle. Please pull all the way up to the “drop off” sign! If you are parking and walking your student to the door, please be mindful of the active car line. When pulling out of the parking lot after dropping off your student please drive to the end of the allotted spaces before you turn and do not cut through open spaces!
Students who arrive later than 8:40 must be accompanied by an adult to the office and sign in before continuing to class.
RECESS AND LUNCH UPDATES
All students will be having lunch and recess with their grade level peers. Grade 3 students will have recess followed by lunch; Grade 4 will follow Grade 3. Please keep in mind the first few weeks of moving through the lunch line can be slow while students are remembering their pins and finding their tables. We will always give students an opportunity to finish their lunch if they are unable to because of delays with the lunch line. Practicing lunch pins at home, especially for the incoming third-grade students, will be helpful! You will receive lunch pins during the open house.
BUS REMINDER
If you received a bus tag for your child, but do not plan for them to take the bus this year, please email transportation@abingtonps.org and let them know, so you can be removed from the bus roster. Please also let your child’s teacher know of their alternative dismissal plan.
Bus routes take longer at the beginning of the school year while bus drivers are getting used to the new stops and students. Please be patient and kind while we transport the students to school and home safely.
COMMUNICATION FROM HOME
Please send your child to school with a note if there are changes to their dismissal plan. If things change throughout the day and you did not write a note, please call the main office as the teachers are not always available to check their email throughout the day.
